FORD MUSTANG
The battle for the most powerful sports car continues with a vengeance between the Camaro, Challenger and Mustang with the unveiling this week of the 2013 Ford Mustang at the LA Auto Show.
Aesthetically, it is recognized immediately that the car for the occasion receives bumpers, grille and a hood that took the volume. To this, add headlights and parking lights surrounded by LED beams. A new approach which gives them an aesthetic look that is both more massive and also more aggressive.
Depending on the models offered, the 2013 Ford Mustang is available in coupe and convertible versions.
Inside, it remains faithful to the current fingerprint with a few exceptions, whose coming models and GT V6 new Recaro sport seats optional, which are found in versions Boss 302 and Shelby GT500.
Renewed or more powerful engines
Under their new cover more plump, the 2013 Ford Mustang powertrains include relatively similar to those already existing, if engine whose power was increased substantially, especially the side of the Mustang GT and Shelby GT500 versions especially.
The nomenclature of the motor is as follows:
- Mustang V6: V6 3.7-liter 305-hp
- Mustang GT 5.0-liter V8 engine of 420 HP (8 HP)
- Mustang Boss 302: 5.0-liter V8 engine of 444 hp
- Mustang Shelby GT500: 5.8 liter V8 engine of 650 hp (100 + hp)
With 650 horsepower, the new Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 in its back in pole position as the sports car the most powerful American in front of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 with 550 horsepower and Dodge Challenger SRT8 470 horsepower.
All 2013 Ford Mustang equipped with an automatic six-speed can pass from one to the other manually through the new SelectShift transmission now comes standard.
They are assembled at the factory Auto Alliance International in Flat Rock, Michigan.
