2012 Bentley Continental GT V8

BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GT V8

Not really! Bentley announced, the new Continental GT (and its variant Convertible GTC) no longer be content merely W12 6.0 liter 575 hp and 700 Nm is possible to choose this all-new 507 hp V8 for a couple of 660 nm which is able to use only four of its eight cylinders. The transition from eight cylinders to four is, according to the manufacturer, imperceptibly. Bentley has therefore made an ecological thinning of its engines.

The new Continental GT goes from 12 to 8 cylinders (see 4) but chutte consumption and performance levels are high. This twin-turbo V8 displays 507 horsepower and 700 Nm of gargantuan between 1,700 and 5,000 rev / min! And all for a fuel consumption and emissions down 40% compared to W12. For the cut with a performance, it takes only 290 km / h top speed and less than 5 seconds for a 0 to 100 km / h.

The Bentley Continental GT V8 differs from the W12 with a few distinguishing marks. It all starts with the front grille and painted black, topped by a Bentley badge "B" in red enamel and a new bumper into three parts. Stern highlights the twin exhaust that gives it a particular sound. In the cockpit, trim eucalyptus are wavy black cross and the console disappears in favor of a short center console.

The presentation will be at the Detroit Auto Show January 9, 2012.
