Following the numerous disclaimers that marked the 2009 edition of the Detroit Auto Show, it is the Chinese manufacturers that hold the upper hand. With premiere honors the main hall.
To celebrate the event, BYD one of the jewels of the industry of the Middle Kingdom, presented his progress on an area where the Chinese remain silent for now, that of the electric car.
Unveiled its world premiere at the last show in Beijing, the e6 is a concept based on MPV (4.55 m long and 1.82 m wide and 1.63 m from the top) that runs entirely on electric power . It has to do with two generators, one 100 hp to the front and another 53 hp at the rear and a lithium ion battery pack (the house specialty).
According to BYD, these take only 10 minutes to recharge to 50%, and time for a full recharge. The Chinese manufacturer and announced a range of up to about 400 km (250 miles exactly), the Right Honourable figures seen by the competition.
