2008 Gumpert Apollo Hybrid

GUMPERT APOLLO HYBRID



Gumpert is like the Lexus LF-A to participate in the 36th ADAC Zurich 24h Race on the Nürburgring on the following month. Gumpert does this with a hybrid race car based on the eccentric Apollo. Apollo combines a very strong V8 engine with an electric motor.
The hybrid hot rod will be powered by a gasoline-fired 3.3-liter V8 engine with two turbos 630 hp pops out. It is also an electric motor with about 136 hp recharge itself during braking. Ex-Formula 1 driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Dirk Muller currently in the America Le Mans Series, driving, going about the Gumpert challenging circuit blow. Of course, the hope for a clear round. The two directors are going to compete with their Apollo fast race cars and German Porsche 911 GT3, Dodge Viper, BMW Z4, Chevrolet Corvette and the Lamborghini Gallardo. The race takes place on 24 and 25 May
