2013 Volvo V40 Cross Country

VOLVO V40 CROSS COUNTRY

If a normal V40 not striking enough, you can contact the V40 Cross Country. Which is not only higher on the legs but also has extra tough bodywork.

In early June, he suddenly popped up during a rainy photoshoot , then we learned a long time nothing more of the XC40 - we like him then for convenience called - Volvo 's' soft road version of the V40 . But a week before the show opens its doors in Paris, let Volvo all official photographs loose and that seems to emanate from the right sort of photoshoot. He called but no V40 XC40 Cross Country. The XC-added uses for his Volvo SUV 's / crossovers, Cross Country serves as indicator for all-road versions of hatchbacks and station wagons. Thus leaving room for an SUV-like in V40 format.

The V40 Cross Country is 40 (!) Millimeters higher on its legs than a normal V40, the wheel arches are filled with (maximum) 19-inch aluminum wheels. The front is recognizable by its matte black honeycomb grille and lower bumper with daytime running upright. Along the flanks are tough plastic skirts and the rear is dominated by a diffuser-like 'skidplate' containing the indication Cross Country.

The only version with all-wheel drive, the T5 of 254 hp, the other versions do it with only front wheel drive. The T5, which is coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission and is equipped with Hill Descent Control, has a consumption of 7.8 l/100 km. Underneath is the 1.6-liter T4 of 180 hp, available with six-speed Powershift or manual speed gearbox. The T4 consumes 5.5 l/100 km with a CO2 emissions of 129 g / km. Dieselen comes with a five-cylinder 2.0 D4 of 177 hp, which consumes 4.4 l/100 km (CO2 emissions 117 g / km), with automatic transmission is 5.2 l/100 km (137 g / km). Then follows the 2.0 D3 150 hp and the 1.6 D2 115 hp, 99 grams per kilometer and consumes an average of 3.8 l/100 km. This version has a manual speed gearbox and start / stop system.

The Volvo V40 Cross Country is from November Ghent, Belgium built, what a launch around the turn of the year will entail. The car debuts next week at the Paris Salon.
